How Pass It On works
Maternity clothes are often needed for a relatively short part of pregnancy or postpartum. Pass It On gives a garment a way to continue to its next owner when you no longer need it.

Find it, wear it, pass it on, someone else finds it — and it gets worn again.

The things worth knowing
- Pass It On
- The part of Mamanida that helps a maternity garment find its next owner when you no longer need it.
- My Wardrobe
- Your private place for the maternity pieces you own — keep them there until you're ready to Pass It On. It isn't open yet.
- Garment Journey
- The history of one physical garment — for example documented ownership changes, listings, repairs or other events over time.
- Journey Card
- The persistent record for one physical garment. It stays with that garment as it moves through different owners and listings.
- Verified History
- Information about the garment that Mamanida can substantiate. Information reported by a user is not automatically Verified History.
- Owners: 3
- “Owners: 3” means three documented ownership periods are associated with this garment. It is a count — not a score, a rating or a badge.
The story of one pair of jeans
One pair of jeans. More than one owner. One Journey Card throughout.

Sofia finds them
Sofia finds a pair of maternity jeans through Mamanida and adds the garment to My Wardrobe. A Journey Card can then be associated with that physical pair.

Sofia wears them, then prepares them
When Sofia no longer needs the jeans, she can prepare them for Pass It On by adding their condition, seller photographs and an asking price.

Anna finds them
Anna searches for maternity jeans through Find. A matching pair marked Pre-Loved can appear alongside eligible new items.

The jeans are passed on
Anna sends a request to buy. If Sofia accepts it, the garment can be passed on to Anna.

Later, Anna may Pass It On again
If the jeans move to another owner, Owners: 2 becomes Owners: 3. The same garment, the same Journey Card, a continuing Garment Journey.
One Journey Card follows the same physical pair of jeans through the whole story.
Owners: 1 becomes Owners: 2 only after a documented ownership transfer. Publishing a listing does not change the count: the Journey Card stays the same persistent garment record, and a new ownership event is added to the Garment Journey.

How the first Pass It On flow will work
Pass It On is being introduced in stages. This first stage is designed to prove the garment, listing, discovery and ownership flow before production services such as payment, shipping and local identity providers are connected.
What is live today is Find: searching and comparing maternity wear from retailers, exactly as before.
Pass It On is being introduced market by market and is not open on this storefront yet. Finding maternity wear works exactly as before.
