Coverage is worth reading literally — brands use the same category name for high-waisted, full-coverage bottoms and for cut-away styles.

Fabric decides fit and longevity: higher elastane content stretches further and recovers better, and chlorine-resistant fabrics hold up to pool use. A few pieces are described by the brand as nursing-friendly, usually with a clip or lift-up top — that only applies where the brand states it, not to swimwear generally.
