Where it all began

It was November 2019. I was pregnant with our first child, and we had just arrived in Spain for a month-long trip. Somewhere between packing and preparing for the journey, I had managed to forget something rather important: my maternity clothes.

So we went out looking for something to wear. But shop after shop told us the same thing: their maternity collections were mostly available online.

We went back and started searching. One website led to another, then another. Soon, we had more tabs open than we could keep track of — different brands, different styles, different prices, all scattered across different shops.

There were plenty of options. Finding and comparing them was the difficult part.

We remember thinking: surely, this could be easier.

A place where you could discover maternity clothing from different brands, see your options side by side, and then simply choose what suits you best.

That thought stayed with us.

In early 2020, it led us to take our first step into maternity fashion with SophiaSwan.com. Building SophiaSwan brought us closer to the world of maternity clothing and, more importantly, helped us understand just how different the needs and preferences of expectant and new mothers can be.

Over time, the idea that had started in Spain became clearer. We wanted to take what we had learned a step further — making it easier to discover what was already out there across different brands, styles and price points, all in one place.

Mamanida is the next step in that journey.

Today, Mamanida brings that original idea to life. We don't sell anything ourselves — no shop, no checkout. We simply bring the options together and lay them side by side, so you can spend less time searching and more time choosing what actually suits you.
